Queen Mary, part of the prestigious University of London, is one of the top UK research universities and a member of the Russell Group of leading UK universities. In 2015 it celebrated 50 years of law at Queen Mary University of London. The School of Law seek to offer students the strongest possible start to their professional life by using established links with law firms, government advisers, commerce, charities and industry. It aims to give a solid foundation, both academically with a taught degree, and on an extra-curricular level; offering work experience, networking opportunities, and excellent careers advice amongst other unique possibilities.

The School of Law was voted 37th best university in the world to study law by Times Higher Education subject ranking 2018.
Undergraduate Courses

The School of Law offers eight undergraduate law programmes with a range of subject combinations, pleacement year options and study abroad opportunities. As one of the largest law schools in the UK, we provide high quality teaching to more than 800 undergraduate students. The School of Law at Queen Mary is ranked first in London and third in the UK by the Guardian University Guide 2018, behind only Oxford and Cambridge. We pride ourselves on offering a unique learning experience to our students. We have several undergraduate degree programmes to offer, each of which is designed to provide an excellent foundation for a legal career, among others. Our teaching framework is relevant and demanding, and facilitated by leading academics. Our aim is to deliver an enriched learning environment and provide our graduates with knowledge and skills that will last a lifetime.

3. LLB Global Law (Four years)
4. LLB English and European Law (Four years)
5. LLB Law with History (Three years)
6. LLB Law and Politics (Three years)
7. LLB Law with Business (Three years)
This programme is not available to apply directly to via UCAS; you should apply for any of the above LLB programmes and you will have the opportunity to make an internal application to transfer onto this four year course at the end of your first year of study.

LLM Programmes

The School of Law offers the largest LLM programme in the UK, with specialist and general LLMs delivered in London. One of the distinctive features of our LLM is the exceptionally wide range of modules on offer. These are advanced programmes of study, so you will be expected to direct your own work and develop high-level legal and transferable skills. Whichever programme you decide to follow, you will be dealing with complex issues systematically and creatively. Taught by our expert academics, with invaluable contributions from leading practitioners and industry experts, our programmes enable you to develop an advanced and thorough understanding of the key and current issues in your chosen field.

LLM programmes are available one year full-time, two years part-time and up to four years on the flexible study programme*


Law students at Queen Mary, University of London have access to excellent information resources to help with their studies.
The library has vast holdings of British publications and also materials from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United States, continental Europe and other parts of the world. Since 1973 the library has been recognised as a European Documentation Centre by the Commission of the European Union and receives most of the official publications of the EU. Students will find everything they need for their studies and much other interesting reading. The library has Wi-Fi access throughout and facilities for private and group study, including bookable group study rooms.
